Playworks Objectives
- Provide a warm nurturing environment that encourages the development of the “whole child”
- Respect, accept, and appreciate each child as an individual

- Provide an environment that is based on successful experiences, which encourages children to develop a healthy self-concept, and positive self-esteem
- Encourage each child’s independence, autonomy, and self-discipline
- Offer an environment that encourages children to develop their capabilities and interests at their own pace and according to their own individual needs
- Offer a program that recognizes the uniqueness of each and every child and provides positive encouragement for the child’s continued growth
- Provide an environment that offers the child an opportunity to learn by doing – moving concrete hands-on experience to more abstract concept development
- Provide opportunities for a lifetime of creative living and foster the early development of a lifelong desire to learn
- Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and materials to encourage the development of social skills
- Encourage children to think, reason, question, and experiment
- Encourage linguistic development
- Encourage and demonstrate sound health, safety, and nutritional practices
- Encourage creative expression and appreciation of the arts and enhance physical development and skills
- Provide a healthy, safe, secure, comfortable, enjoyable, and responsive environment
- Provide daily information to parents/guardians
