School Age Policies
Attendance
It is very important that you call to let us know if your child will not be attending Playworks due to illness, appointments, or for other reasons. If your child is transported to and/or from school by the Playworks bus, please call the transportation number,
952-496-6851, to notify the bus driver that your child will not need transportation. If the transportation department is not notified your account will be charged a $10 service charge.
Busing/Transportation
Playworks staff and bus drivers will escort your child to and from the
Playworks bus and the public school bus check your child in/out on the
computer and the sign in/out sheets when they come and go from school.
Check in & Check out
Please make sure that you check your child in and out EVERY day.
When dropping off or picking up your child make sure you make contact with a
School-Age teacher and they acknowledge the arrival/departure of your child.
When picking up or dropping off your child in the school-age classroom a
parent must accompany your child up and down the stairs. Do not send your
child downstairs to retrieve their belongings while you are picking up a sibling
or waiting in the car. When leaving the School-Age facility do not allow your
child to run ahead and wait in the car while you talk with the teacher, check
their file, etc. This is for the safety of your child.
Changes
Change of address, hours, vacation notices, and other forms can be found on the Parent Board. Please fill them out and return them to the file folder in the School-Age manager's door.
Payments
Check payments can be made in the drop box next to the School-Age manager's office. Cash or credit card payments need to be made at main Playworks desk.
Communications
Please check the Family Board daily for lesson plans, the daily schedule, school release day information, special events, notices of illness, etc. Check your child's file folder mailbox daily for newsletters, bills, notes home and other special notices.
